Summer Program

GMA Summer Program
Summers at GMA are simply an extension of the academic year Montessori program for the Infant Community, Toddler Community and Children’s House students. The school day is essentially the same with additional outside time, more arts & crafts, and special activities. In the past, we’ve had visitors come to the school including musical and dancing performers from around the world, the Zoomobile, Rappin Roy, Eco Elvis, and the annual fire truck (with water hose!) appearance. In addition, the children enjoy a weekly water day with sprinklers, a slip and slide, and other water exercises set up outside.
For elementary (students who have completed first-sixth grade) age students, the children enjoy lots of field trips, arts & crafts, extensive reading, gardening, opportunities to volunteer with younger students and much more! Previous field trips and activities included: weekly tennis lessons at Overland Park Racquet Club, a Royals game, Ninja Training Obstacle Course, trips to The Bay Water Park, a day in Lawrence, Kansas State Capitol tour & Topeka Zoo, Coterie Theatre, Union Station, Moon Marble Company, Shawnee Mission Park Lake & Beach, Skate City, seeing The Lion King, theater week, cooking week, and volunteering at Harvesters and Unleashed.

Two Sessions, More Options

You can sign up for just one of the sessions (June or July) or sign up for both.

If you attend both sessions you get up to 10 days of credit off your tuition. This equates to more than $400 off per child! The 10 days can be taken however you’d like to utilize them. Grandma coming to town for a few days? No problem! Work a reduced schedule in the summer like Fridays off? No problem – you can use your 10 days of credit for any of those situations or for an extended summer vacation.
