Application Process

Global Montessori Academy accepts applications year round.  Students are evaluated on the basis of readiness for school and potential for success in a Montessori classroom. It is equally important to determine whether the parents’ educational philosophy is compatible with that of GMA. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical handicap or religion in admission of students or the employment of faculty and staff.

GMA is currently accepting applications for our

Children’s House (ages 2.5 to 6) and

Elementary (ages 6-9 & 9-12) levels

for the 2027–2028 academic year.

Application Process

1. Schedule a School Tour

Begin your admissions journey by scheduling a private tour of our school.
Tours allow you to observe the Montessori environment in action and ask questions specific to your child’s needs.

2. Submit the Admissions Application

Complete the Admissions Application and submit it along with the $75 non-refundable application fee.
You will be prompted to create a brightwheel account (if you do not already have one) and set up a profile for your child before accessing the application.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2027–2028 academic year for Children’s House and Elementary programs.

Current availability status:

  • Children’s House (ages 3–6), Infant, and Toddler programs are at full capacity for the current school year.

  • Due to active waitlists, these levels will likely remain full for the 2026–2027 school year.

  • If your preferred start date is after the 2027–2028 school year, please indicate this on the application.

3. Shadow Day for Lower Elementary Applicants

New applicants to the Lower Elementary program are required to participate in a shadow day, typically scheduled in April.
During this visit, your child will spend a full school day in the classroom, interact with peers, and be observed by Brandy Parr, Lower Elementary Teacher, to assess readiness and classroom fit.

We strongly recommend that parents attend the Elementary Open House in November prior to applying.

Important Information

Infant & Toddler Enrollment

We are not currently accepting applications for our Infant or Toddler programs. These classrooms are typically filled internally by siblings of current students and children of staff members.

Admissions Notifications

If we are able to offer your child a placement for the upcoming school year, you will receive an acceptance notification via email by February.

Year-Round Admissions & Start Dates

Global Montessori Academy accepts children on a year-round basis when space allows.
As a private, nonprofit Montessori school, we do not follow a strict birthdate cutoff. We honor each child’s individual development, and start dates are based on readiness rather than age alone.

Due to high demand, applications automatically carry over from year to year.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions decisions may be based on:

  • Teacher assessments from interviews or classroom visits

  • Balance and composition of the current classroom

  • Space availability

Children’s House applicants (ages 2.5–6) must be fully potty-trained before their first day of school.

Vaccination Requirements

All children must be fully up to date on KDHE-required vaccinations to be eligible for enrollment.
