Global Montessori Academy has a variety of school-wide events scheduled for 2015–2016 school year:
2nd Annual Thanksgiving Feast
Parents and grandparents are cordially invited to our Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 25th. The meal will be catered by Conveniently Natural. The cost for adults is $10 and the cost for siblings is $6 (if they aren’t part of our school lunch program).
We will stagger the feast times as we cannot fit everyone in Cherokee Hall at the same time. The Toddler Community, Children’s House 2, and Children’s House 3 will begin their feast at 11:00. Children’s House 1, Children’s House 4, and Elementary will feast at 12:00. If you have children in classrooms that straddle both feast times, we will make sure both children can join you for the feast. Once the feast is over, the school will close for Thanksgiving break.
Please RSVP in my office by signing up and leaving payment by Monday, November 23 so Conveniently Natural can prepare adequate amounts of food. Questions? Please email Erin (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Mark your calendars for a favorite GMA tradition, the Winter Program! The afternoon of Thursday, December 17 the students will perform Christmas and winter songs. Each class is hard at work practicing their selections. The finale will be an all-school song! The program will begin at 4PM in the sanctuary. (No extended day.)Traditionally, we have a restaurant night following the program. Once details are finalized, we will announce the restaurant location.
6th Annual Spring Auction
It’s that time of year again! Our annual auction is right around the corner. This year’s event will be on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Funds raised through the 2016 auction this year will be invested in Montessori education grants, Montessori materials purchases, and playground and outdoor classroom space improvements. All contributions to Global Montessori Academy are fully tax-deductible.
Volunteer at Harvesters
Once each year a group of GMA parents, 3rd year students, and supporters volunteer at Harvesters. Whether sorting and bagging carrots, or packing BackSnacks for low-income children it’s a great day in so many ways.
