Anyone can apply for a scholarship to Global Montessori Academy. Two scholarships will be awarded each academic year and four will be awarded for Summer School. Candidates for scholarship must be between the ages of 2 and 9. Scholarships cover tuition, enrollment, extended care, lunch fees and supply fees. Fees for extracurricular activities and other incidentals are not included.
A variety of factors will be evaluated by the award committee when determining which applicants will receive scholarship. In addition to demonstrating need, applicants and their families must agree to become active and contributing members of the GMA community. Applicants and their families should be aware that as a small, private school we do not have the expertise to manage students with behavioral issues, or medical conditions that require intensive care. If you have questions about our policy regarding student behavioral and health issues please contact Brian Gordon, Executive Director.
As is common in a Montessori environment GMA adheres to a 3-year cycle in the Children’s House (ages 3-6) and Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) programs. While the two academic year scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis a recipient may be asked to stay and complete their current cycle and be awarded scholarship in the subsequent year(s). There is no commitment, however, to award scholarship to the same recipient year over year even if the cycle is not completed. An application should be made each year. The Summer School program scholarships are also awarded on an annual basis and cover only the summer session, typically the months of June and July.
Scholarship applications for the 2015-2016 Academic Year are due by April 20, 2015. You must include a copy of previous years tax return.
