Anyone can apply for a scholarship to Global Montessori Academy. Two scholarships will be awarded each academic year and two will be awarded for the summer session. Candidates for scholarships must be between the ages of 2 and 10. Scholarships cover tuition, enrollment, extended care, and supply fees. Fees for extracurricular activities and other incidentals are not included.
A variety of factors will be evaluated by the award committee when determining which applicants will receive scholarship. In addition to demonstrating need, applicants and their families must agree to become active and contributing members of the GMA community. Applicants and their families should be aware that as a small, private school we do not have the expertise to manage students with behavioral issues, or medical conditions that require intensive care. If you have questions about our policy regarding student behavioral and health issues please contact Brian Gordon, Executive Director.
As is common in a Montessori environment, GMA adheres to a 3-year cycle in the Children’s House (ages 3-6), Lower Elementary (ages 6-9), and Upper Elementary (ages 10-13) programs. While the two academic year scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis, a recipient may be asked to stay and complete their current cycle and be awarded scholarship in the subsequent year(s). There is no commitment, however, to award scholarship to the same recipient year after year even if the cycle is not completed. An application should be made each year. The summer session program scholarships are also awarded on an annual basis and cover only the summer session, typically the months of June and July.
Scholarship applications for the 2016-2017 Academic Year are due by April 29, 2016. You must include a copy of 2015 tax return.
